The Screen Acting Summer Intensive is for anyone and everyone who loves to act!

We have two age groups:
10-13 year olds
14-17 year olds

Our masterclass will cater to different levels of experience, so we encourage all levels and abilities to apply.

If you have a lot of experience, we will challenge you to dig deeper into your character and explore different acting techniques to achieve a natural and nuanced performance.

If you’ve always wanted to try acting and this is your first step into the world, we will teach you essential techniques and coach you at your level so you don’t feel overwhelmed.

Not at all! We encourage actors of all experiences to apply. While we’ll be covering the same foundational work with everyone, the masterclass format allows us to meet people at their level. So the level of depth and detail can be altered for each actor.

With over a decade of teaching experience each, Tara and Jess are well equipped to coach actors of different experience levels in the same room.

We’ll aim to pair actors of similiar experience together, so everyone feels comfortable while also being challenged to grow as an actor.

Jessica and Tara worked together for five years at an acting studio. During that time they loved coming up with creative ideas to challenge and inspire their students. From teaching American Accent and hosting mock auditions, to running long-form improv immersions, they were always dedicated to providing their students with the valuable acting techniques and fun experiences.

Here’s a little bit about their individual backgrounds:

Tara:

Tara holds a Bachelor of Arts (Acting) and has worked as an actor in both theatre and screen, with highlights including Rostered On (Netflix & 7Mate) and an international theatre tour of Missing (BYTE).

In July 2023, she was invited to join an intensive voice teacher training programme under the world-renowned voice coach Patsy Rodenburg OBE, whose impressive client list includes A-list actors and corporate leaders alike. Tara is now one of a select few Patsy Rodenburg Associates working within Australia and has recently opened her voice coaching business, Voice & Speech Co. She also teaches Voice & Public Speaking at St Ignatius College Geelong.

Tara also holds a Grade 8 Certificate in Modern Singing (ANZCA). During her high school years, she was a vocalist for Motown/Soul band Sweethearts, where she performed at many festivals and private venues including a European tour in 2007 with performances at Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland) and Porretta Soul Festival (Italy).

- Warm up & rehearse your scene
- Shoot your scene & receive detailed feedback
- Watch & learn as others film their scene & take on feedback
- Viewing Party! Watch everyone’s scenes & celebrate your hard work!

14-17 YEAR OLDS

DAY ONE

We’re very excited to be running our Summer Intensive at Mind Muscle Empowerment!

Mind Muscle Empowerment is a youth organization and center that encourages confidence and strength through Boxing & Muay Thai.

We’ll be working in their brand-new Connection Space, which features arcade games, a pool table, giant chess set, foosball and more. We’ll be making the most of this amazing setting when we film our scenes.
